5 Ways to Take Care of Yourself When You’re Pregnant

It’s easy to forget with everything you have going on, but you have to remember to put yourself first sometimes. Pregnancy takes its toll, after all you’re growing a mini me in there and they need a rest sometimes too!

It’s never been more important to take care of yourself and focus and your baby’s well-being, – so why not set aside 30 minutes to disappear from those daily stresses. Trust us, your mind and body will feel the difference in no time! Our feel-good gurus have gathered their favourite (and most effective) techniques to unwind and release any tension.

1. Take the pressure off those overworked feet!

Swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of pregnancy, but taking time out of your day to ‘pop them up’ can dramatically improve circulation and water retention. Don’t ignore the warning signs that your body needs a break! To get the most out of these 30 minutes, rub on our mama mio ‘Lucky Legs‘ to give your tired limbs instant, cooling relief. The menthol and spearmint will help sooth your mind too!

2. ZzZz away a few hours

There’s nothing better than an afternoon nap (especially in your first trimester)! If you’ve got small children, why not nap when they do – trust us, it’ll replenish both your body and mind.

We the know how tough it can get to sleep at night with everything you’ve got going on, and it’ll be the same for your partner too – so we created a handy little Sleep Better Kit with a Liquid Yoga bath soak and room spray to give you a helping hand! Naps and better sleep at night…make the most of it now!

3. Massage your feet

By your third trimester, your feet may be disappearing under your ever-growing baby bump, so it may be impossible to do this one by yourself. Grab your other half, or one of your best friends and put them on massage duty. After a little practice, they’ll be a professional! Try our Lucky Legs for a refreshing massage oil, or the Activist Firming Body Oil smells amazing too!

4. Watch the sunrise

With a baby twisting and turning inside your tummy all night, sleepless nights are common occurrences! Instead of fighting the insomnia, get up and watch the sunrise – it’s our favourite part of the day!

5. Zone out of the world and in to a book!

Read that book you’ve been meaning to get stuck into, read your old diary to see how far you’ve come, or why not read our blog… Step out of your world for a moment and let your mind wander.

If you have any tips for fellow mums-to-be on how to look after number one, then share them on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram! We look forward to hearing from you!

Remember to pick up 10% off the pregnancy essentials kit for a limited time only, it’s time to look after you – and bump too!
